My name is Janice L. Sutton and I have been teaching in NC for 18 years. I will begin my 19th year of teaching here at Independence High School. I graduated from NC A&T State University with my BA in History. I also obtained my AP US History certification from UNC-C. I am currently the Secretary for the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies.
I am married to a band teacher here at CMS, and we have two children. Our son is a chef and a graduate of Johnson Wales University. Our daughter is majoring in Music Education at UNC-C. We also have a very energetic Miniature Schnauzer who is a part of the family. In my spare time I love to sew, cross stitch, scrapbook, and make other types of crafts. Wonder Woman is my favorite Superhero. And who doesn't love Mickey Mouse? I am very excited to be a Patriot. I will be teaching American History I in the Fall and American History II in the Spring. |
